| Q3 : King James Bible Versions I wish that there was a test or survey that I could take to see which of the editions of the KJV Bibles is the closest to how I remember the Bible. Thank you for your time and help. |
| A3 : by Tony Garland I'm not aware of any survey like you mention. Concerning KJV bible
versions, there aren't very many that have gained popularity so that might
narrow the possibilities down. In fact, other than the standard KJV
itself, most of the alternatives haven't been around all that long. If what you
remember is from a considerable time back, I would guess it was probably the
standard KJV.
Other variations of the KJV that I'm aware of
include:
With the exception of the NKJV (first published in 1979), I don't think
any of the others have gained much of a following.
You can compare the KJV, MKJV, and
KJ2000 side-by-side at our website using the following
link:
It may take a few minutes to download all three books if you are using a
slow (dialup) internet connection, but it will eventually display a three-column
"parallel bible" with each of those versions.
By typing in any address, all three bibles will move to the same passage
and you can compare their wording.
Perhaps this will be of some assistance?
