Recommended Bible Study Software

We offer a free bible study tool called WordLinks which is simple to use and runs in almost any web browser. You can use it directly from our website or it can be downloaded to your machine for use when disconnected from the internet.

WordLinks Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Free - make copies to give to friends.
  • No Installation - simply insert CD (or download and unzip) and study.
  • Windows or Linux - operates with Windows and Linux.
  • Easy to Use - point-and-click like browsing the internet.
  • View Multiple Books - simultaneously in a single page over the internet.
  • Slower - runs in a web browser and uses larger data files. (Faster when downloaded or run from CD.)
  • Limited Selection of Books - copyrighted works generally not available.
  • Macintosh - not yet available on CD for Macintosh.

Although WordLinks is simple to use and works relatively well, it has several disadvantages. Because it runs within a web browser, it is large and somewhat slow when compared with other programs which install directly on your computer, such as those listed below.

The following bible study tools require installation and operate using the native executable format of your computer. Consequently they are much faster and offer more powerful features which are not possible within WordLinks.
