SessionDescription
01 2Thess Introduction Introduction to the Book of 2 Thessalonians
(2 Thessalonians 1:1-5)
This study introduces Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians, showing why he wrote so soon after sending his first letter. It restates Paul's genuine praise for what God had accomplished in their lives, and how they have become an example that Paul can use to encourage other churches. He demonstrates that these believers are already worthy of participation in the kingdom of God, and implies that their persecutors certainly will be punished by the Lord Jesus Christ. 03 2Thess 2 1-5 The Prerequisites for the Tribulation
(2 Thessalonians 2:1-5)

It also provides several important characteristics of the "man of lawlessness" -- the Antichrist. [14 slides, 54 minutes]
04 2Thess 2 6-7 Why is the Tribulation Delayed?
(2 Thessalonians 2:6-7)
In these two verses the apostle Paul tells about the "restrainer" which is holding back lawlessness. At a specific future time this "restrainer" will step aside and allow the man of lawlessness to be revealed, but until then there is a divinely appointed delay in the Tribulation. These verses have important implications for the ministry of the Holy Spirit during the time of the Tribulation. [18 slides, 1 hour 18 minutes]
05 2Thess 2 8-12 What Happens After the Restrainer Steps Aside?
(2 Thessalonians 2:8-12)
