Introduction to the Biblical Covenants
Prior to crossing the Jordon into the promised land, Moses reviews the law originally given to Israel at Mt. Sinai and makes a covenant with the new generation. This covenant develops the promise of land originally given to Abram and elaborates on the conditions Israel must meet to continue in the land. The history of the Jews can be better understood in light of the blessings and curses which God set forth as conditions for her occupation of the land. (Deu. 29; 30)
